A one hour ferry crossing over the Solent can be exciting and also inciteful. See the Victorian sea fortresses that protected England from the French during the Napoleonic Wars

Shopping at Gunwharf Quays

The old quay of Portsmouth used to be the centre of ammunition production for Englands Naval history. Today it is a great place to go shopping with Designer outlets offering discounts throughout the year, this is the place to pick up a bargain!

In the Morning we have the opportunity to discover the world famous historic ships – HMS Victory, the Mary Rose & HMS Warrior, that have shaped British history at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Soaring 170 meters into the sky above the historic harbor of Portsmouth, gateway to the English Channel, the Spinnaker Tower is now open to view. At Gunwharf Quay you have one of the UK’s best shopping experiences.

In the afternoon we take a leisurely 30 minute cruise to the Isle of Wight, one of the most idyllic yet exciting parts of Britain. We take a scenic drive arriving in Godshill , one of England’s most charming villages, with it’s 500 year old thatched roofed cottages. Here we can visit the famous Model Village, or try a traditional English Cream Tea. We continue to the west of the Island for a walk along the cliffs to view the spectacular chalk “Needles” rocks, and the coloured sands at Alum Bay.

We return to the mainland for a scenic drive through the New Forest, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Here we experience picturesque villages, bustling market towns and a special atmosphere and timelessness. En-route home we pass Arundel, a wonderfully picturesque town on the River Arun dominated by its imposing 11th Century castle.
